COMETS RELEASE DEFENSEMAN ALEX WALL FROM PTO
Jan 12, 2017UTICA, N.Y. – Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher has announced that the club has released defenseman Alex Wall from his professional tryout contract.
Wall, 26, skated in last night’s 2-1 overtime victory over the Syracuse Crunch registering one shot and a plus-one rating. The defenseman has dressed in 29 games this season with the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL posting three goals, 18 assists (3-18-21) and 17 penalty minutes.
The 5’11’’, 190-pound blueliner is playing in his rookie season out of the University of New Brunswick. He has registered 122 career collegiate games scoring 16 goals, 44 assists (16-44-60) and 88 penalty minutes. Prior to college, the St. John’s, Newfoundland native spent four seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League amassing 267 games played with 22 goals, 92 assists (22-92-114), a plus-63 rating and 170 penalty minutes.
