COMETS HIT THE ROAD FOR SYRACUSE
Nov 5, 2021TONIGHT: Utica (4-0-0-0) heads to Syracuse to take on the Crunch (4-2-1-0)
LAST TIME OUT: On a night celebrating Halloween inside the Adirondack Bank Center, the Utica Comets welcomed the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the first time this season. The Comets were happy to welcome back Nico Daws in the lineup after his call up to New Jersey where he recorded his first NHL win. Utica scored five unanswered goals in a 5-2 win.
SPECIAL TEAMS DOMINANCE: The Comets have yet to give up a power-play goal this season in four games played. They didn’t strike on the man-advantage on one try Friday where the Phantoms failed on all three attempts with the extra attacker. The Phantoms outshot the Comets 33-22. Comets return to action on Friday night on the road against the Syracuse Crunch before returning home for back to back games against the Marlies and Rockets.
HOLTZ ON THE MOVE: The New Jersey Devils announced Thursday that forward Alexander Holtz has been recalled from the Utica Comets. Holtz, 19, skated in all four games for the Comets this season scoring five goals in that time. The Stockholm, Sweden native leads the Comets in goals scored and is tied for lead in points. Currently, he is tied for third amongst goal scorers in the AHL.
