COMETS FEEL THE WOLF PACK'S BITE

Utica, N.Y. – The Utica Comets fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack by a score of 4-1 Saturday night at the Adirondack Bank Center.

Carter Bancks put the Comets up 1-0 seven minutes into the game, firing a wrister past Chris Nell. Nikolay Goldobin and Jalen Chatfield picked up the assists. The assist was Chatfield’s first professional point. Filip Chytil tied the game at one with five minutes remaining in the first. Cole Schneider and Vinni Lettieri were credited with the assists. Chytil struck again two minutes later on the power play. Lettieri had the lone assist.

Lettieri extended Hartford’s lead to 3-1 six minutes into the middle frame with an unassisted goal. The Comets had a plethora of chances but Nell was up to the task.

Gabriel Fontaine put Hartford up 4-1 five minutes into the final period. Adam Cracknell and John Gilmour collected the assists. The Comets pressed down the final stretch but were unable to solve Nell.

Demko stopped 25 of 29 shots and his record falls to 5-4-1. Nell finished with 31 saves. His record improves to4-4-0. The Comets power play went 0-3, while the penalty kill gave up one goal in three attempts.
