EXCITING THINGS TO COME FOR COMETS 5TH ANNIVERSARY SEASON

Earlier this week, the Utica Comets officially announced their promotional schedule for the 2017-18 season, which will also be their fifth season in existence. The season is sure to be a memorable one, with a new coach at the helm, a new fifth anniversary logo, and a new 21,000-square foot addition to the Utica Memorial Auditorium. In addition to the aforementioned changes, the Comets are excited to provide their Season Ticket Members, and fan base as a whole, with a collection of new events and promotions throughout the season.

50 for 5 – Zuhaus raffle for 5-year STMs - November 4*

As a ‘Thank You’ to our devoted 5-year Season Ticket Members, the Comets will be randomly selecting 25 individuals who have been a STM with the Comets for the entirety of their existence to enjoy Saturday’s game from Zuhaus, the new loge seating area that is part of the 21,000-square foot addition. The 25 winners will be able to bring one guest to accompany them to Zuhaus. All eligible account holders will be entered into the drawing, and winners will be contacted by mid-October from a Comets ticketing representative.

‘Meet the Team, Meet the Building’ – November 12*

On November 12, Season Ticket Members are invited to The AUD to both meet the team and explore the building, including the suites, loge seating, and, best of all, the women’s restrooms! The full Comets team, including players and coaches, will be stationed throughout the building to meet many of you for the first time. Concession stands will be open, beer will be sold for just $2 (cans only), and football will be streamed on all of the televisions and on the video boards. The Comets store will also be open for you to gear up for the 5th Anniversary season. ‘Meet the Team, Meet the Building’ will run from 1-4 pm.

Military Night – November 10

This season, the Comets are honored to have the National Guard sponsoring our Military night. While specific details of the event are still in development, the night will feature a large American Flag tribute on the ice, presented by the Communications Workers of America, in addition to a collection of military-themed interactive exhibits throughout the concourse. The Comets are excited to host another night to honor our troops and express our gratitude for all they do.

5 Games of Christmas – December 6 - 22

The holiday spirit will shine through this December, with a collection of Christmas-themed promotions and events. Much like military night, the exact details of the month’s events will be released at a later date, but the five games will include an appearance from Santa and his elves, a postgame autograph session, mystery boxes, and Christmas apparel and memorabilia featured in the store.

Valentine’s Day – February 14

This year will be the first time the Comets have played a game on Valentine’s Day; fans should look forward to a variety of features at the Wednesday game, including date night packages offered through Empire State Tickets that will be available later this fall.

5-Year All-Star Team Poster Giveaway – March 16*

Upon the start of 2018, Comets Season Ticket Members will have the chance to vote for their favorite Comets from the past five seasons in order to build a 5-Year All-Star Team, consisting of three forwards, two defensemen, and a goalie. The six winning players will be featured on a limited edition custom poster that STMs can pick up at the game on March 16.

Comets Plaza Party – April 15

To celebrate the end of the regular season, the Comets will host a pregame party on the grounds of The AUD, featuring food, drinks, live music, giveaways, and other unique ways of recapping the anniversary season.

The above are just some of the new and exciting events that will take place at The AUD over the next seven months. The Comets are also excited to welcome back Save of the Day Foundation Night on January 20, the Rally Towel Giveaway on Opening Night, Magnetic Schedules on Opening weekend, postgame skate with the Comets team, and more successful promotions that our fans have enjoyed in the past. The Comets organization also want to remind everyone that additional items will be added to the promotional schedule as they are finalized.
