Michael Lehr is the Vice President of Marketing and Content for the Utica Comets, currently in his 4th season with the organization. In this role, he oversees the team's marketing strategy and leads its content creation efforts, shaping the voice and identity of the Comets across various platforms.

A native of a hockey-loving family, Lehr spent his early years in Ohio, California, and New Jersey, gaining a deep appreciation for the game. Before joining the Comets, he built a diverse career in college and professional sports. Most recently, he served as the broadcaster for the University of Vermont Men’s Hockey team, alma mater of Jamie Sifers, the 2018-2019 Utica Comets AHL Man of the Year. Lehr also provided play-by-play coverage for Vermont’s basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey teams on the ESPN family of networks.

Lehr’s professional journey began in minor league baseball as the voice of the Aberdeen Ironbirds in Maryland. Beyond broadcasting, he has excelled in creating videos, podcasts, graphics, and behind-the-scenes content that deepens fan engagement.

A proud graduate of Syracuse University, Lehr honed his craft in various broadcast roles while embracing a unique opportunity to serve as "Otto the Orange" for three years. While his mascot and skates may now rest, his commitment to storytelling and connecting with fans continues to define his career—and gives his mother a reason to still call herself a "hockey mom."
